Former Alberta Tory candidates endorse Gary Mar

The front-runner in the campaign to become Alberta’s next premier has gotten a major boost from two former rivals.
Gary Mar is welcoming the endorsement of former Progressive Conservative party leadership candidates Ted Morton and Rick Orman.
Morton and Orman were dropped Saturday from the party’s first ballot.
Party members must choose between Mar and candidates Alison Redford and Doug Horner in a run off vote in Edmonton October 1st.
In Saturday’s balloting Mar won about 41 per cent of the vote.
To take the party leadership a candidate must win at least 50 per cent of the votes plus one.
