Calgary’s Prostate Cancer Centre is attempting to set a Guinness world record Wednesday by blood-testing the most men over 40 in an 8-hour period.
If the crowds at the clinic in the morning were any indication, the record is a done deal.
Men lined up by the hundreds to have their blood drawn after the centre put the call out for a thousand men to come down and get the test.
It’s the cornerstone event for Prostate Cancer Awareness Week.
While she admits she wasn’t sure if people would turn out, spokesperson Linda MacNaughton tells 660News she’s overwhelmed by the response.
“Men are amazing me and it’s kind of like, we’re hoping that prostate is going to be the new word around the water cooler because the show of support is that it’s going to be,” says MacNaughton.
