Triple murder trial wraps up for the week

The murder trial continues for Nathan Zuccherato and Michael Roberto. The two have pleaded not guilty to three counts of first degree murder in connection with a New Year’s Day shooting at the Bolsa Restaraunt in 2009.

On Thursday, court heard testimony from a member of the Calgary Police Service who was dealing with a key witness in the case.

Detective Gavin Walker testified about his dealing with the witness, who can not be named due to a publication ban. It’s believed the unnamed male may have had some involvement the day of the shooting and the defense tried to almost imply that perhaps, the witness may have received special treatment in exchange for his testimony in the case. Detective Walker was adamant that he was not involved in any deals. That witness is expected to testify on Tuesday when the trial resumes.
