Canmore really has gone to the dogs.
The 2011 municipal census found there are more dogs than kids in the town of 12,000.
Mayor Ron Casey tells The Calgary Herald there’s no question that dogs are certainly a way of life in Canmore, adding part of the reason is the town’s youth population is in decline.
Enumerators counted more than 1,900 dogs, compared to almost 1,800 kids living in Canmore.
