Amber Alert cancelled for southern Alberta

Early Saturday evening an amber alert was issued in southern Alberta and was cancelled within the hour.
An eight year old girl was abducted from her temporary home in fort mcleod earlier in the afternoon .
Authorities believed that the suspect along with the victim where making their way to Calgary.
Calgary Police Duty Inspector Keith Kane tells 660News that around 7:30pm they were called with a tip.
“The Calgary Police Service recieved a call from an outreach worker in downtown Calgary who was at the Mustard Seed,” said Kane.
“She indicated that she believed she had located the female and the girl that was identified by the RCMP in the Amber Alert.”
Police were able to identify both the suspect and the victim.
Both have been taken into Calgary Police custody and the RCMP are on their way to pick them up.
