Responsible Dog Ownership Day at Bowness Park

Hundreds of Calgarians along with their dogs soaked in the sun and participated in a number activities at Bowness Park.
Gary Bissell is a dog trainer at Calgary Longshots, a small club that teaches a number sports like “flyball.”
“You race against teams, there are double lanes with a set of lights just like drag racing. There are four dogs on the team and they each have to complete the course without dropping the ball” he says.
Bissell says activities like flyball help dogs become better socialized.
There was also a practice canine good neighbour test to see how a dog reacts in situations like walking in the park with their owner.
