Accident leaves boy in serious condition

A nine-year-old boy continues to battle for his life in hospital.

The child suffered serious head and chest injuries when he was hit by an SUV Tuesday afternoon in the northwest community of Panorama Hills.

Police tell 660News the child was in surgery at 1:00 a.m. Wednesday.

A 17-year-old was behind the wheel at the time of the accident.

Speed, alcohol and distracted driving have been ruled out as possible causes.
