Provincial party leaders call for fixed election dates

While Albertans wait to learn who will take the premier’s chair in Saturday’s P.C. leadership vote, leaders of the other provincial parties would also like to know just when they can expect the next election to be held.
Alberta Party leader Glen Taylor says he wants fixed election dates to put an end to the political games.
That’s the one thing everyone seems to agree on, with Wildrose Alliance leader Danielle Smith and Alberta Liberal leader Raj Sherman also calling for fixed election dates.
Each of the three say regardless of whether the new premier sends us to the polls this fall or early next year, they’ll be ready to go into full campaign mode.
Alberta NDP leader Brian Mason wasn’t available for comment.
