47-year-old Phil Allen of Crossfield has been working on a dream project for the last year and a half.
A former military man who would move on to running welding shops, Allen began building what the Calgary Herald describes as a “giant killer robot” when he became weary with the welding business and being laid off.
Allen is hoping to sell his 450 kilogram, alien-like creation for as much as $80,000 to a shopping mall or for use in a park or perhaps even downtown.
If it did end up in a mall, Allen says the robot’s head could be equipped with a security camera.
