Ex-roommate and co-worker testifies at Dustin Paxton trial

A former roommate and co-worker of Dustin Paxton took to the stand during Day Seven of the trial for the 31-year-old.

Abraham Chuuta lived with Paxton for three to four months and helped him launch his moving company.

Chuuta testified that when he first moved in Paxton was “fairly normal” but went on to describe how his violence escalated and he began abusing both him and a unnamed 27-year-old victim in the case.

Paxton was seen smirking and shaking his head in disagreement while Chuuta was on the stand.

Paxton has pleaded not guilty to the charges of forcible confinement, assault and sexual assault.

Paxton’s lawyer closed the day by showing pictures of the victims smiling during a time where they allege the abuse was talking place.

Two Calgary Police Officers are expected to testify tomorrow.
