Bear sighting in southwest

There’s been another bear encounter in southwest Calgary – the second in a week.

Someone out walking their dog came across a small black bear in the 6500 block of Laurentian Way Southwest.

“The animal was secured for a brief moment in time until Fish and Wildlife attended, but there was little to no disruption in the community,” says Duty Insp. Darren Leggat.

The bear was tranquilized and relocated.

Last week not far away from that location, a large black bear was spotted in North Glenmore park.
