The U.S. State Department will holds its final public hearing Friday on TransCanada’s controversial Keystone XL pipeline.
The Calgary company’s plan to pipe oil from northern Alberta to Texas has become a political hot potato for the Obama administration.
Thousands of activists have demonstrated against the pipeline, saying it is an environmental disaster in the making.
Supporters say it will create jobs and help the United States lessen its reliance on oil from the Middle East.
