Alberta Tory support surges

The recent race to be leader of the Conservatives has given the party a boost in the polls.
The poll, conducted by Lethbridge College students during the leadership election weekend, shows support for the PC’s on the rise as Alison Redford takes the reigns from Ed Stelmach.
Close to 48 per cent of decided voters say they’d vote Tory; a jump of 12 points from a similar poll conducted in 2010.
Support for the NDP is now in a virtual tie with the Wildrose at just over 16 per cent.
The current official opposition, the Liberals, garnered around 13 per cent; down from 21 per cent last year.
Lethbridge College political scientist Faron Ellis tells The Calgary Herald, the Tories may have received a boost from all the media attention focused on the leadership race at the time of poll.
Forty-eight per cent of those polled were undecided on who they would vote for.
