Gas leak in the northeast

Fire crews have capped a gas leak that forced everyone out of of homes and businesses between Edmonton Trail and Centre Street.
A drill on a nearby construction site hit a 4-inch line which holds a lot of pressure.
Thankfully no one was injured but the fire department’s Brian McAsey tells 660News, they didn’t take any chances.
McAsey adds during the final construction push of the season these types of leaks happen too often.
The area was shut down for about an hour.
