Police warn public about Astrology scam

Sometimes we’re confronted with a situation that’s too good to be true and two Calgarians lost a lot of money this time believing it was real.

Calgary Police are investigating after at least two people responded to an ads in local newspapers by “Pandit,” a person who claimed to be an astrologer.

When the two people went to see the Pandit, he and his “assistant” it was suggested they bring as much cash and gold with them in a bag to bring them more luck.

During the reading, the Pandit put it in a box and told both victims to open the box 21 days later and their fortunes would come true.

Well, those two people were not too pleased when their box contained only rice and newspapers and no money or gold at all.

The scammers fled from the address listed in the Pandit ads and have not been seen since.

Police are asking anyone with information to call Crimestoppers.
