Beware of data criminals

Information thieves may find that Canadian small businesses are easy targets.

A Shred-it survey found that most companies feel information security is important but nearly half are not worried about a potential data breach.

Michael Collins with Shred-it tells 660News that small businesses can take some simple steps to heighten security.

He said businesses can protect themselves by employing a shred-all policy and appointing someone to oversee the security plan.

Collins also recommends destroying computer hard drives when they are no longer needed.
