Crews are cleaning up after they blew up a building Sunday morning.
The Ogden Federal Grain Elevator, at 15th Street and 46th Avenue S.E., was demolished around 8 o’clock.
The blast was a shock to some in the area, including Brock Armstrong, who was just across the river at Golf Canada Centre.
“The shop just kind of shook like it was a big thunder blast and I was like, okay… something blew up…so I ran over, my pro-shop is about a hundred metres from here… and the guy was like, ‘what was that?’ He says it shook the whole pro shop,” says Armstrong.
Armstrong added the implosion of the building sounded like a couple of jet engines over the top of his shop.
The elevator was torn down because its location wasn’t working anymore for Cargill, the company that owns it.
