Union group planning protest outside Stephen Harper’s office

The union representing the nearly 6,800 Air Canada flight attendants is not happy with the federal government’s back-to-work order and they plan to do something about it.
A protest at Stephen Harper’s Calgary office is planned for Monday.
President of the Calgary and District Labour Council, Alexandre Shevalier tells 660News, he’s fed up with the labour minister’s recent rulings.
“With Lisa Raitt’s decision to not only take away Air Canada’s workers rights to strike, but also the Canadian Union of Postal Workers right to strike, we’re wondering what’s next?” he said.
He adds the reason for the protest is because of the government’s anti-union view and to send the message that collective bargaining rights are also Canadian rights.
Shevalier says air travel is not an essential service and Canadians have other options, meaning the CUPE’s strike should be legal.
