City clarifies snow route rules

The city says most of those new snow route signs are up on priority one and two roads across Calgary.

They are also clarifying a few of the rules like what if you see the plows go down your street, but the 72 hour parking ban isn’t up, can you park on the street?

“Basically we are asking for people to stay off the streets for 72-hours after we declare a ban and the reason for that is because the plows will often come back to the same location, to clear snow over and over again and sometimes to clear the snow,” said Communications Advisor Julie Yepishina-Geller.

The roads department also says the parking ban will only go into effect when five centimetres of snow accumulates on the ground.
