A renowned architect is in Calgary offering insight into how planners can improve the downtown core.
Renée Daoust says she believes Calgary is a young and vibrant city and she has a few suggestions on how to make Calgary reflect that.
“I think that you have to refine your (Calgary’s) urban personality, if I may say so. The projects that we’re showing could give a little information on how you can do this, because these major urban operations are team-working,” says Daoust.
She points out as advantageous as our +15 Skywalk system is, it reduces foot traffic on downtown streets, and says part of being a vibrant community is appearing more animated with a lot of activity on city streets.
