Stamps host Riders in “Pink Power” game

Friday’s game between the Stampeders and Riders at McMahon Stadium is being dubbed the “Pink Power” game.
Players will be wearing various pink coloured items including gloves, wristbands and towels all in support of women’s cancers through the Canadian Cancer Society.
The Stamp’s Randy Chevrier tells 660News, getting involved was deeply personal for him after watching his mother battle and survive breast cancer.
Chevrier says his grandmother and cousin had also been affected by cancer so it’s a cause he has wanted to get involved in for a long time.
Fans in attendance can do their part by purchasing limited edition toques and ballcaps for $20 and can also purchase tickets for the game on the Stampeder’s website with $5 from every purchase going directly to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Chevrier is also raising funds with a contest on on his personal Twitter account, @CHEVYwearsPINK.
He says so far the amount raised has exceeded his expectations and he’s touched by the response.
He adds it shows just how many people have been affected by cancer and want to get involved.
