Calgary man dies after Hwy 1 crash

Police say speed and alcohol were not factors in a rollover that killed a 45-year-old Calgary man Sunday night on Highway 1 at the Springbank turnoff, near Calaway Park.
At about 6:30 p.m., witnesses told RCMP a truck with an attached picker arm hit the bridge and then flipped before rolling on the highway.
The truck split into two pieces, blocking both westbound lanes.
The driver was taken to hospital with life threatening injuries, where he later died.
His name is being withheld until his next of kin are notified.fied.
