Flu-shot season is here

Leaves are falling, the temperature is getting nippy and snow is just around the corner, which means one thing, flu-season is coming up fast.

Infectious Disease Specialist Dr. Joan Robinson says it’s important to start getting the flu shot now so antibodies take hold before flu-season germs really start breaking loose.

She says children as young as six-months can get immunized, making it especially key for family members of infants to get the shot too.

“Most infants will get exposed through people they live with.” says Robinson, “So immunizing the house-hold contacts is really, really important.”
