Former girlfriend testifies in torture trial

A former girlfriend of Dustin Paxton’s alleged victim testified Wednesday at Paxton’s trial on charges of torture and forcible confinement.
Lynn Ness recounted how much her former boyfriend changed in the year that Paxton is alleged to have tortured him.
She also shared pictures of what he looked like before the alleged abuse.
She said she was romantically involved at one point with the man but said later the two were just friends when they shared beers around a backyard fire in April of 2009.
She told the court the next time she saw him, in a Regina hospital 13 months later, he was nothing but ‘a pile of bones in a bed with a tube in his nose. No face, no legs, there was nothing left of him.’
Wednesday’s testimony had started out with a Regina Police forensic investigator who recounted the extend of injuries presented by Paxton’s former roommate while in ICU at Regina General Hospital in April of 2010.
