Harris will play for Lions against Edmonton

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The BC Lions will have young running back Andrew Harris in the lineup for Saturday’s crucial West Division showdown with the Edmonton Eskimos at BC Place.
The former Vancouver Island Raiders junior star, who has become a mainstay in the Lions’ offence, will return from a shoulder injury suffered in the Lions’ 42-10 loss to the Hamilton Tiger-Cats last Saturday.
Earlier this week, Harris, 24, seriously doubted that he would be ready but now his strength and range of motion in the injured shoulder is much better. An MRI this week confirmed that there was no tear.
Harris, the 2009 Wally Buono Award winner as most outstanding junior football player in the nation, has 89 carries for 430 yards and one touchdown in his first full season in the CFL.
The Lions (9-7) play host to the Edmonton Eskimos (10-6) Saturday in a game that could decide first place in the West Division. The Lions can still finish first in the division by winning their two remaining games against Edmonton and Montreal.
