Calgary Humane Society asking for help in dog abuse case

The Calgary Humane Society is looking for the owner of an abused dog that was found running around in the northeast neighbourhood of Monterey Park on Thursday.
They say someone had tied something around the dog’s muzzle which cut deeply into his skin causing a serious infection and it also meant he couldn’t eat or drink.
The organization’s Christy Thompson tells 660News, the young dog is very thin and was clearly neglected, but will be closely monitored by the vet staff.
The animal was rescued by a passerby and taken to the Humane Society, where a vet closed the wounds on the animal’s muzzle.
The vet says the approximately one-year-old black lab-cross is a resilient pup and his recovery is remarkable. (Pictures can be seen on the society’s website).
