2011 Poppy Fund launched at Chinook Centre

While many prepare to trick or treat this weekend, others are walking for a different reason.

Veterans and families of Calgary’s fallen were marching in a colour parade at Chinook Centre Saturday morning, to help launch the 2011 Poppy Fund Campaign.

Poppy fund spokesman Joey Bleviss tells 660News the mall is a good place to donate. He says they have a display at centre court.

The fund hopes to raise 2 million dollars this year.

Donations help support our war vets and their families.  Most of the money is used for food hampers.
