Alleged Paxton victim takes stand

A Calgary court heard more dramatic testimony Tuesday as Dustin Paxton’s alleged victim recounted months of beatings and sexual encounters that he says were inflicted on him by the accused.

With his identity protected by a publication ban and with a screen shielding his view of Paxton, the 28 year-old man told the court of severe beatings he says he endured.

He testified that Paxton, angered by a customer complaint, punched him in the face.

“With all his might, he put his shoulder into it and punched me right in the face, shattering my eye socket,” the man testified.

Paxton’s former roommate and business partner also told the court that Paxton beat him about the body 25 to 35 times with a 3-foot-long two-by-four shortly after that punch.

The man said Paxton also made sexual advances on a regular basis.

The alleged victim told teh court he would’ve done anything to avoid being beaten and that it was like a defence mechanism.

Paxton, clearly agitage in the prisoner’s box, shook his head and cursed under his breath.

This is the second day his accuser has taken the stand in the trial.

Paxton, 30, faces charges of aggravated assault, forcible confinement and sexual assault.
