A local woman is trying to bring awareness to a cause she has personally been impacted by.
With mental illness affecting about 6 million Canadians, Lee Horbachewski tells 660News she wants to put an end to the stigma of mental disease.
“People fear that if they go get professional help they’ll get ridiculed or you know, made fun of or looked down upon. So a lot of people don’t reach out for the professional help because of that stigma,” says Horbachewski.
She adds, in an effort to raise awareness about mental disease she’s coloured her hair blue as part of the “Going Blue 4 U” initiative.
