Out-of-towners might be responsible for a string of bank robberies in the city.
Over the course of 14 hours Wednesday, police responded to five bank robberies, two liquor store heists and a gas station drive-off.
Duty Insp. Darren Leggatt tells 660News, in a number of those robberies, witnesses reported seeing a silver SUV with Washington license plates.
Two First Nations males were also spotted.
There was an arrest in one of the bank robberies when a vehicle was cornered in a parking lot not far from an Alberta Treasury Branch on Westwinds Drive in the northeast, where there also happens to be a police station.
