This is National Bullying Awareness week.
Nancy Lukey, system principal with the Calgary Board of Education, says bullying doesn’t just happen on the playground anymore, and it’s increasingly moving online, so they have to be watching for the warning signs.
“It’s hard to leave that sort of bullying, and not think that it’s not going to affect what’s going on on the schoolyard or in the school classroom.” Lukey said. “Kids bring them into school.”
The city says this week is a great opportunity for communities to help in tackling the problem at the grassroots level.
