Home invasion at Airdrie grow-op

Several masked men dressed all in black broke into an Airdrie home where police say marijuana had been growing in the basement.

Cpl. Maureen Lucko said they pointed a gun at the 30-year-old man living there, demanding cash and drugs.

The robbers roughed him up before making off with his wallet, cell phone and LCD TV early Monday morning.

She said police didn’t know there was a grow-op there prior to the home invasion.

“Incidental to the home invasion investigation, a small marijuana grow operation was located in the basement of the home, however, there were no active marijuana plants located,” said Cpl. Lucko.

Cpl. Lucko couldn’t confirm if the victim and suspects knew one another, nor whether they got away with any marijuana plants.

She said neither the victim nor the Luxstone-area home was known to police.

Anyone with any information is urged to call Crime Stoppers.
