Two critics of the Keystone XL pipeline say they are now on board with the project because it will be re-routed around sensitive areas of Nebraska.
Democratic Senator Ben Nelson and Republican Mike Johanns have both issued statements saying the change in the route was the right thing to do and are now supporting the pipeline.
Nebraska Governor Dave Heineman is expected to announce support for the new plan at a news conference Tuesday.
The deal unveiled Monday will see TransCanada and Nebraska officials work together to find a route that avoids the sensitive Sandhills area.
