Toy stores reducing inventory

Many retailers are scaling back their holiday inventory due to economic uncertainty.
With the trend taking hold in the toy sector, the shortage of must-have toys means many kids could be disappointed on Christmas morning.
A toy analyst at BMO Nesbitt Burns tells The Globe and Mail, North American toy chains have stopped importing products directly from overseas.
That means the onus is on their suppliers to buy merchandise and store it until chains order it in response to demand.
Last year, toy sales cooled off in December, leaving retailers with excess merchandise they had to sell at low prices.
