Child porn charges laid against Calgary man

A 65-year-old Calgary man has been charged with child porn offences after police received a tip from a local computer business who found disturbing images while fixing his computer.

Staff Sergeant Steve Lorne with the internet child exploitation unit says police seized two computers from a mission-area home in the 300 block of 26th Avenue southwest.

Lorne tells 660News the images they’ve seen so far are horrific.

“These images are not pornography, they are actually images of children being sexually exploited,” said Lorne.

65-year-old Bernard Hyde, who has a lengthy criminal history, is expected to appear in court next week.
