Doctor speaks out against planned lab closure

A former Calgary Physician is slamming a plan to shutdown the pathology lab at the Tom Baker Cancer Centre.
Dr. Tony Magliocco tendered his resignation back in August after waging an unsuccessful battle to keep the lab open.
He claims his concerns were never addressed and officials with the Superboard actually threatened him for speaking out.
The Leader of the Wildrose party says it’s another example of a physician in the province being bullied or intimidated simply for advocating for his patients.
Dr. Magliocco and the Wildrose say moving the lab testing facility could jeopardize the lives of cancer patients, with both calling on the government to cancel the November 30th closure.
Smith says the only way the government is going to silence it’s health care critics is by agreeing to hold a judge-led public inquiry.
