Ebay has dubbed November 27th “Super Sunday” in Canada and it has nothing to do with the Grey Cup game.
Kevin Wolfley with Ebay Canada says they’ve crunched the numbers and come Sunday, Canadians will be busy on-line shoppers.
“Looking at the data from a few years past, we’re able to predict this Sunday, November 27th, is going to be what we’re calling ‘Super Sunday,’ which is going to be the biggest online shopping day for Canada this year,” Wolfley tells 660News.
He adds Ebay is expecting Canadians to be in more of buying mood than last year.
“17 per cent increase in the number of gifts purchased,” is Wolfley’s prediction about Sunday’s sales figures, adding that about two gifts will be purchased every second or about 100 gifts every minute.
Wolfley also says you’ll be able to multi-task on Sunday — meaning shop and watch the big game at the same time.
“Absolutely!,” he says. “You know one of the best things about shopping on Ebay is that you can do it pretty much anywhere, especially with our great mobile apps. In fact, we expect to see a huge increase in the number of gifts purchased via smart phones and tablets this year.”
As for what items are popular with shoppers, he says the items include women’s and men’s clothing, cell phones and accessories, fashion jewellery and video games and systems.
