The Stampeders might not be in the CFL’s Championship game this year, but Calgary is still represented.
The Chair of the Calgary Grey Cup Committee says there’re looking forward to leading the football celebrations in Vancouver.
Fletcher Armstrong tells 660News he and 60 other volunteers are gearing up to kick things off Thursday morning when they visit a special needs school, where students will be treated to live music and dancing.
Armstrong says on Friday and Saturday they expect to serve up a stampede style breakfast for 4 to 5 thousand people in front of B.C. Place stadium.
A tradition the Calgary Grey Cup Committee started back in 1948 in Toronto will happen again this year, when a cowboy rides a horse into a downtown hotel lobby.
Fletcher says he and his committee members will also use their time on the West Coast promoting next summer’s 100th anniversary of the Stampede.
