Banff marks a milestone

Friday is the 126th anniversary of Banff National Park.

It was the first national park in Canada and only the third in the world when it was established on Nov. 25, 1885.

Statistics out this week show Banff and neighbouring Jasper bring in more tourism dollars than any other national park or historic site in Canada.

The Calgary Herald reports overall spending across the country comes in at $2.5-billion.
