Fire destroys Heritage Pointe home

A home in the community of Heritage Pointe, south of Calgary, was destroyed by a fire Friday night.

By the time the Calgary Fire Department arrived it was too late to save the house and they had to go on the defensive to protect neighbouring homes.

According to the Calgary Herald a man owns the home on Heritage Lake Boulevard and lives there with his mother.

They were out for a family dinner when they got the call from RCMP

Damage is estimated at $750,000 and a neighbouring home with minor damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but it doesn’t appear suspicious.
