Albertans are Canada’s most confident winter drivers

Albertan drivers are the most confident winter drivers in the country, according to a new survey.
The latest TD Insurance winter driving poll reveals 27% of Albertans feel confident behind the wheel during the winter season, compared to only 23 per cent of our fellow Canadians.
Henry Blumenthal, the Vice President and Chief Underwriter at TD Insurance, tells 660News, why we’re more confident on the road.
“Driving in the winter time is something that is very typical in Alberta so I guess experience says a lot but it doesn’t mean that just because you feel more confident that you don’t need to be prepared,” says Blumenthal.
“You still need to be very prepared.”
According to the poll, our biggest winter driving pet peeve is drivers who follow too closely, followed by drivers who are too fast in winter conditions.
It also states that with age comes wisdom, reporting that Canadians aged 55 years or older are not only more confident winter drivers, but more knowledgeable on how to stay safe on the roads.
