The Dustin Paxton torture trial is set to continue Tuesday.
Proceedings wrapped earlier this month when the defence lawyer served notice he wanted a judicial stay over concerns about late disclosure of evidence and the handling of a Crown witness.
Both sides will present their cases on the key legal issue over the next few days, and court may also hear final arguments in the case.
Paxton is charged with aggravated assault, forcible confinement and sexual assault after a former friend was dropped off at a Regina hospital in April 2010.
