Motorists finding themselves in need of tow truck Wednesday morning had some time on their hands.
As of mid-morning, City Wide Towing was reporting waits of up to two hours.
Most of the calls were from people who were stuck in the snow, but some were also reporting they had locked their keys in the vehicle.
“I think people are just rushing when they’re running out to start their cars,” Kathleen of City Wide Towing said laughing.
City Wide is reporting road conditions on area highways are a mess and drivers should double their normal travel time.
Kathleen learned that first hand this morning, saying her drive to the office this morning from Strathmore took twice as long as usual.
“Yeah, it’s completely snow covered,” she says. “I left my house at quarter to six. I didn’t get here till twenty after 7, and we’re” (City Wide Towing) “just on the southeast corner of the city.”
Even though no highways were closed, the Mounties were urging caution to those heading outside the city.
