Icy road conditions on QEII

The Mounties would appreciate people staying off the QEII between Olds and Red Deer.

That stretch of the province’s main highway is covered in black ice, with semi’s jack-knifing and vehicles sliding off the road into the ditch.

Corporal Warren Wright in Olds tells 660News, they are working on trying to improve driving conditions.

“We have sanders out there, we are hoping the sand will take affect on the road and traffic will be back to normal this afternoon.”

Wright’s advice to those planning a highway trip on Friday is to slow it down or as he puts it “Drive according to the conditions.”
