The Christmas craze at Canada Post is in full swing as people try to send their mail before Santa’s big arrival.
There is a little under three weeks to go until the rush wraps up.
660News got a personal tour of the Calgary postal plant to witness the pandemonium first hand.
Inside, employees are hard at work, dealing with the onslaught of incoming mail.
Officials say in Calgary alone they’re seeing 700,000 parcels a week and two-million letters daily.
Canada Post spokesman John Hamilton calls December their Superbowl.
“It’s incredible busy. We have 65,000 staff on a regular basis and we bring in an extra 2,400 workers for seasonal jobs to help move everything out there,” said Hamilton.
Hamilton says they’ll take almost anything through the plant, but he warns that it should be wrapped properly to make sure it makes it to it’s destination securely.
