Pedestrian hit by downtown C-Train

Calgary EMS have rushed a man in his 20’s to hospital after being hit by a downtown C-Train on Tuesday.
The pedestrian was struck just before 5:30 p.m. along 7th Avenue S.W. near 9th Street S.W.
The Calgary Fire Department says the young victim suffered a head injury, and had been dragged some distance by the train before it was able to stop.
The Fire Department says the victim had crossed in front of the train at an intersection.
The accident closed down the C-Train line along 7th Avenue throughout the entire downtown core.
This C-Train/Pedestrian incident is the second in just two days.
On Monday morning, police say 49-year-old Karnail Brar was struck and killed by a C-Train in the northeast.
Police say they believe Brar wasn’t paying attention and may have been wearing headphones or earphones at the time.
