CMHC release housing starts

It appears builders made the most of Calgary’s good November weather.

Canada Mortgage and Housing reports, housing starts last month we’re up 99 per cent compared to the same period a year ago.

In November, work began on just over 1,100 units in the city, while during the same period in 2010 that number was 550.

However even with last month’s robust activity, housing starts in the city are still running about 5 per cent below 2010 levels.
