YYC project at midway point

The Calgary airport’s $2 billion dollar development program is both on schedule and on budget as construction workers have been moving around the clock on a new concourse for the terminal and a new 14-thousand foot-long runway.
The numbers are dizzying, more than 12.5-million people moved through the airport last year and a new concourse will double it in size, with the new runway being the longest in Canada.
YYC’s Jody Moseley says that as the City grows, the airport must also do so, “We’re really tied into the economy and $6-billion dollars of value added GDP to the region and our success is really the City’s success.”
Both projects are roughly at the midway point of completion, the new runway opens in 2014, the new international concourse, the year after that.
