Airdrie man killed in crash near Lethbridge

An Airdrie man has been killed in a pile-up crash involving semis, just north of Lethbridge.

It happened just before 11 this morning, on Hwy 3 at the Hwy 509 intersection.

Police believe an eastbound SUV hit a semi trying to turn south on the Kipp turnoff.  

A second semi then hit the 52 year-old driver of the SUV as he stood outside his vehicle and a third semi hit the first truck, forcing it into the ditch.  

The name of the man killed has not been released and no other injuries were reported.
