City Council is trying to figure out just how badly Calgarians want to ride free bicycles around downtown.
A proposed plan is looking at placing 400 bikes at stations around the downtown core for residents to ride free for short trips and paying a small fee for rides over 30-minutes.
However, some aldermen are cycling-up a storm over the $2.5-million project.
The Calgary Sun reports Shane Keating says he’s completely against using public dollars on a bike-share program, pointing-out they tend to lose money every year.
